Hi, I'm Jack (张磊) 👋

I'm a Chinese entrepreneur who has spent the last 21 years deeply embedded in the cross-border trade ecosystem — not from an office, but from factory floors, shipping docks, and negotiation tables across China and the world.

I was born and raised in China, and over two decades I've built an intimate, firsthand knowledge of the country's manufacturing landscape. I know the supply chains of Shenzhen, Tianjin, Shanghai, Beijing, Hangzhou, and Dongguan — not as a visitor who toured once, but as someone who has placed orders, inspected production lines, and built long-term partnerships in every one of these cities.

Today, I run a cross-border B2B + B2C operation spanning three continents: I have a trading company in Los Angeles (4 years running), a company in Germany, and my headquarters in Shenzhen, China. I manage everything from product development and factory sourcing to logistics, Amazon FBA, and wholesale distribution on both sides of the Atlantic.

Most "China sourcing experts" you'll find online are one of two things:

  • Americans or Europeans who visited China a few times and wrote a guide — decent English, zero real factory-floor experience.
  • Chinese agents or translators who know the language but have never run an actual cross-border business themselves.

I'm neither. I'm Chinese — I've been on the ground for 21 years. I speak the language, I know the culture, I've been inside hundreds of factories across half a dozen industrial hubs. And I've also built and operated real businesses in the US and Europe. I know what works on both ends of the supply chain.

🇨🇳 My China Manufacturing Network

China is not one unified manufacturing ecosystem — it's six distinct industrial regions, each with its own specialties, culture, and supply chain dynamics. I know them all:

📍 Shenzhen

Electronics, hardware, prototyping. My home base. The world's fastest supply chain.

📍 Shanghai

Premium manufacturing, automotive parts, medical devices. Gateway for high-end exports.

📍 Tianjin

Steel, heavy industry, machinery. Major port for northern China exports.

📍 Beijing

R&D, biotech, aerospace. Policy and regulatory hub for imports/exports.

📍 Hangzhou

E-commerce capital (Alibaba HQ). Textiles, apparel, home goods, and digital innovation.

📍 Dongguan

Toys, furniture, consumer goods. The factory floor of the world. Over 15,000 manufacturers.

🌍 Global Operations

I don't just source from China — I operate businesses at both ends of the supply chain:

  • 🇺🇸 Los Angeles, USA — My own trading company, operating for 4 years. Warehousing, distribution, and client relationships across North America. I know what US buyers need because I AM a US buyer.
  • 🇩🇪 Germany — My European company. Serving EU clients with localized logistics, compliance (CE marking, WEEE, packaging laws), and distribution. The EU market is different from the US — I've learned that difference the hard way.
  • 🇨🇳 Shenzhen, China — My headquarters and command center. Factory relationships, QC teams, and logistics coordination. This is where the supply chain starts.
Why this matters to you: Most sourcing guides are written by someone sitting in one country. I operate in three. I understand the full picture — from factory floor to customer doorstep — in China, the US, and Europe.

What I've Built

  • ✅ Imported 200+ containers from China to US and Europe — toys, electronics, home goods, baby products, across dozens of categories
  • ✅ Built a baby toy brand from zero — landed it in Target and Walmart supply chains, competing against $B corporations
  • ✅ Managed $22M in annual revenue across Amazon FBA (80%) and B2B wholesale (20%)
  • ✅ Built companies on three continents — Shenzhen HQ, LA trading company, and German distribution arm
  • ✅ Attended Canton Fair 14 times — spring and fall, every year without fail. Built relationships with hundreds of suppliers.
  • ✅ Made every mistake in the book — from $15K ruined containers to failed product launches — so the lessons in these guides are real, not theoretical

Why These Guides Are Different

After 21 years, I realized that the knowledge I'd accumulated was stuck in my head — and in the heads of a few friends in the industry. Every time a new entrepreneur asked me for advice, I'd give them the same 30-minute lecture. I decided to write it down so everyone could benefit.

The problem with every other China sourcing guide:

  • Blog posts — too shallow, too generic, usually outdated within months
  • YouTube videos — 10 minutes of content stretched to 20 minutes for ad revenue
  • Consultants' courses — $2,000+ for information that should cost $20
  • Free guides — lead magnets designed to sell you something else

My guides are different. They're comprehensive, actionable, and written by someone who's not just an observer — I'm a practitioner who still ships containers every single month. Every negotiation script, every QC checklist, every shipping hack is battle-tested in real containers I've paid for with my own money.
